   The national high-risk pool is expected to be created this summer, sometime after June 23. No one knows what the premium will look like.

   Does your state HAVE a high risk pool? You’ll have to check, and if they do, you can apply now. Many states that have a high risk pool, also have a waiting list to get into the pool insurance. Some states have been closed to new enrollees, for years.

   And, don’t forget, this isn’t FREE. The cost of insurance through your state high risk pool, is anywhere from moderately cheap (and heavily subsidized by the taxpayers) to extremely expensive (and still heavily subsidized by the taxpayers). Generally, the less expensive the pool is, to buy in, the longer the waiting line to get in, and the harder it is to get into it.
